Directorate also conducts various censuses like,
Agriculture Census, Economic Census, Live Stock Census, Census of Government Employees, etc.
A special Statistics Cell is also set up in the Directorate for the purpose of collection, compilation and
tabulation of data relating to sources of Minor Irrigation in the State and furnishes various reports to the
Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India, from time to time.

As per Cabinet decision of the Government, the Minor Irrigation Census is transferred to the State
Water Resource Department with effect from December 2022.
